Jobe Bellingham is on the verge of completing a high-profile transfer to Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund, with a reported fee of £27 million agreed between Sunderland and the German club. The deal is said to include performance-based add-ons, potentially increasing the final value.

According to reports, the two clubs have reached advanced stages in negotiations, with Sunderland initially holding out for a higher fee. Dortmund had reportedly offered around £19.5 million plus €5 million in bonuses, but a compromise appears to have been reached, pushing the overall package closer to Sunderland’s valuation.

The 18-year-old midfielder, younger brother of Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham, impressed during Sunderland’s 2024/25 campaign, making 45 appearances and playing a pivotal role in their promotion to the Premier League.

The move to Dortmund mirrors the path of his older brother, who joined the German side from Birmingham City in 2020 before making a blockbuster move to Spain.

Bellingham is expected to undergo a medical early this week, possibly as soon as Tuesday or Wednesday. Dortmund are keen to finalize the transfer in time to register him for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, taking place in the United States from June 15 to July 13.

This transfer marks another major milestone in Bellingham’s promising career and underlines Dortmund’s continued commitment to nurturing young talent.
