Newcastle set to sign Yoane Wissa from Brentford for £55m

Yoane Wissa is set to sign for Newcastle after a £55m deal was agreed with Brentford; Newcastle had multiple offers rejected for Wissa this summer.

The 28-year-old has agreed a four-year contract with Newcastle and is set for a medical on Monday afternoon.

Brentford were reportedly unwilling to part ways with Wissa, who recently issued a statement on his official Instagram account claiming the Bees are ‘unduly standing’ in his way ‘despite a series of fair offers throughout the summer.’

Wissa marks to be Brentford’s second significant departure this transfer window after Bryan Mbeumo made the move to Manchester United for a reported initial £65m.

With the official announcement from either club and/or expected soon, Wissa is set to take his leave from Brentford after recording 49 goals and 13 assists in 149 games over four years.
