AC Milan are close to securing the signing of striker Victor Boniface from Bayer Leverkusen in a loan deal that includes a €30m option to buy, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Italian side, led by sporting director Igli Tare, has submitted an official offer in the past 48 hours, with Leverkusen currently reviewing the proposal. Boniface is said to have already agreed in principle to a long-term contract with Milan.

Bayer’s new coach Erik ten Hag is prioritizing Patrik Schick in attack, and the club appears willing to let Boniface leave if the right offer comes in.

Boniface joined Leverkusen in the summer of 2023 from Belgian club Royale Union Saint-Gilloise for €22.6m. In 61 official appearances for the German side, he has scored 32 goals and added 12 assists, establishing himself as a key player under Xabi Alonso.
