Former Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has emerged as a candidate for Fenerbahce and Bayer Leverkusen.

Erik ten Hag lasted two league games at Bayer Leverkusen after tension with the hierarchy over signings and the direction of the club, which was headed in a downward spiral. The former Manchester United boss had taken over from the successful Xabi Alonso this summer following his departure to Real Madrid and now the club need to find a replacement.

Similarly, Jose Mourinho was sacked by Fenerbahçe earlier this month, after just 14 months in charge. The decision was made following the Istanbul outfit’s 1-0 defeat to Benfica in the Champions League play-off tie which the board felt wasn’t good enough.

Now, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that for Spurs boss Postecoglou is in talks with both clubs as he hopes to return to football.

“Ange Postecoglou, emerging as option for both Bayer Leverkusen and Fenerbahçe looking for new head coach.

Postecoglou was sacked by Tottenham after the club finished 17th in the Premier League last season, despite him guiding Spurs to their first major trophy in 17 years with Europa League glory. He may well return to the sidelines very soon as the manager merry-go-round continues.
