Harvey Elliott joins Aston Villa on loan from Liverpool

Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott has completed his season-long loan move to Aston Villa on transfer deadline day.

Elliott underwent a medical in Birmingham on Monday afternoon and has now formally ratified his loan switch to Villa Park.

The England Under-21 international will join Unai Emery’s side for the remainder of the campaign with the Villans obligated to pay £35m to make the move a permanent one next year.

It’s understood Liverpool have also negotiated both a buy-back and a sell-on clause into the agreement with the Reds feeling the player’s potential will be unlocked by regular game-time in the Premier League, which was something that couldn’t be guaranteed at Anfield under Arne Slot.
