Rico Lewis has signed a new five-year contract with Manchester City in a deal that keeps him at the Club until the summer of 2030. The new contract will further establish the Bury-born Academy graduate’s deep bond with the Club. Having joined City’s Academy as an eight-year-old, Lewis first progressed through City’s respective age groups before making his first team breakthrough in our Treble season of 2022/23. Since then, the 20-year-old has gone on to establish himself as an invaluable member of Pep Guardiola’s senior squad. Anthony Martial is set to continue his career in Mexico, with Monterrey agreeing terms for his arrival following the green light from AEK Athens to travel for a medical and contract signing. Anthony Martial is one step away from starting a new professional stage in Mexico with Rayados de Monterrey. FC Barcelona officially announced on Thursday the addition of Thiago Alcântara to its coaching staff. Athletic Bilbao have signed Spain defender Aymeric Laporte from Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr after Fifa changed its initial decision and approved the transfer. The La Liga club originally tried to bring in the 31-year-old on 1 September but the move was not completed before the transfer deadline. The Spanish football federation (RFEF) then asked the world governing body to make an exception to its rules to allow a move to go through but the request was denied. It sought to overturn the decision – the request was then granted. Spanish media said Al-Nassr had not filed the details of the transfer online into Fifa’s transfer matching system. Former Manchester City player Laporte made more than 200 appearances in his first spell at the Basque club between 2012 and 2018. “Athletic Club would like to report that Fifa has authorised the RFEF to obtain the International Transfer Certificate (ITC) from the Saudi Arabian football federation,” said Athletic in a statement. “Once the ITC is issued, Aymeric Laporte can be registered with Athletic Club.” Laporte spent five years at City, winning five Premier League titles and the Champions League, before moving to Al-Nassr in 2023. The Football Association has today charged Chelsea FC with allegations relating to agent regulations and third-party investment in players. In total, 74 charges have been brought against Chelsea FC. The conduct that is the subject of the charges ranges from 2009 to 2022 and primarily relates to events which occurred between the 2010/11 to 2015/16 playing seasons. Wolfsburg have completed the signing of veteran Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen on a free transfer. Eriksen, who had been without a club since leaving Premier League side Manchester United at the end of last season, has signed a two-year contract with the Wolves. “VfL Wolfsburg is my first club in the Bundesliga – I’m really looking forward to this new adventure,” said the 33-year-old.  “I’m convinced we can achieve something together at Wolfsburg.
